CISF men’s swimming team tops 74th All India Police Aquatic Cluster in Manesar with 19 medals
CISF secured the overall championship in men’s swimming at the recent All India Police Aquatic Cluster

GURGAON: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) emerged as the overall champion in men’s swimming at the 74th All India Police Aquatic Cluster held at the National Security Guard (NSG) campus in Manesar from October 1 to 6.The CISF aquatic contingent won 30 medals across swimming and diving, including 12 gold, 11 silver and seven bronze medals. Its men’s swimming team topped the championship with 19 medals, eight gold, seven silver and four bronze.The CISF women’s swimming team finished third, winning eight medals, including three gold, two silver and three bronze. The force also won three medals in diving, comprising one gold and two silver.The aquatic cluster, organised under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board, featured swimming, water polo and diving, with teams from state police forces and central police organisations participating.The closing ceremony was held at NSG Manesar and was attended by NSG director general Brighu Srinivasan, IPS, who presented medals and trophies to the winners.CISF’s aquatic team was led by Commandant Thachunghnung as team manager, with Malpeddi Gopi R as coach and Shaji Kuriakose as assistant coach.In the cross-country championship held alongside the aquatic events, CISF’s Reenu won gold in the women’s category. The force had fielded a two-member contingent in the event.
