Bengaluru: The driver of a multi-utility vehicle was killed and four block education officers heading to the city from Mysuru were injured when their vehicle rammed a truck coming from the opposite direction on Bengaluru-Mysuru access-controlled highway near Channapatna Monday morning.The deceased is Anand M from Mysuru. “The MUV’s front tyre exploded near Mudugere junction and the vehicle jumped the median. It collided with the truck heading towards Mysuru. Anand sustained serious injuries and was declared dead at the hospital,” Channapatna police said.A motorist died around 4.45am Monday when a rashly driven Tempo Traveller hit him on HMT Layout Main Road. Gaurishankar, resident of Majunathnagar, was riding back home from work when the accident took place, Peenya traffic police said.In another accident near Yelahanka, three students riding a motorcycle sustained injuries after hitting a car that was taking U-turn around 1am Sunday. The two-wheeler rammed the car that was taking a U-turn, police said.In the third accident around 8pm Sunday, 32-year-old security guard Kapendra Maje was killed after a water tanker crushed him near Gandhi Circle on Gunjur Main Road, Whitefield. A resident of Varthur and from Nepal, Maje was walking back home when the accident took place.
