Mumbai: The city Crime Branch is likely to seek the custody of software engineer Sharath Shankar arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police in connection with a series of fake bomb threat email cases registered in Mumbai between 2024 and 2026.The accused, identified as Sharath Subramanian Shankar, was arrested by the Tamil Nadu Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday after he returned from the United States.Shankar, a native of Tirunelveli district, was detained at Chennai International Airport on his return from the US. He was reportedly employed with a software company based in Texas.According to investigators, Shankar is wanted in connection with around 32 fake bomb threat email cases registered in Mumbai.
