Aizawl: Speaker Lalbiakzama on Thursday adjourned sine die the two-day monsoon session, during which six govt Bills were passed and an official resolution was unanimously adopted.Presenting his report on the seventh session of the ninth assembly, Lalbiakzama said 300 starred questions and 72 questions, requiring written replies, were taken up. Govt departments, however, failed to respond to 22 questions.The report drew a sharp reaction from opposition members, who demanded that CM and House leader Lalduhoma, as well as the speaker, reprimand the departments concerned.The assembly also paid tribute to former minister F Malsawma, who died on July 4. Lalduhoma made an obituary reference, followed by condolence speeches from several members.Elections were held to four Assembly financial committees—the Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Estimates, Committee on Public Undertakings and Committee on Local Funds Accounts—following the expiry of their terms.
