TIMES NEWS NETWORKMangaluru: Two undertrial prisoners lodged at the district prison in the city were found in possession of mobile phones during a surprise inspection conducted by prison authorities.Sharanabasappa, superintendent of the District Prison, Mangaluru, stated in a complaint that an inspection was carried out on the night of July 7 along with prison officials and staff in room No 3 of ‘A’ Block. During thesearch, officials recovered a mobile phone from undertrial prisoner Mohammed Ajmal. A further search of another undertrial prisoner Mohammed Iqbal in the same room also led to the recovery of another mobile phone from his possession.Following this, the prison superintendent lodged a complaint seeking appropriate legal action against both undertrial prisoners. Barke police have registered a case.
