Gorakhpur: Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) has secured a place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026, which assess universities worldwide on their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the varsity informed on Wednesday.MMMUT has been placed in the 1001–1500 global rank band, joining a select group of higher educational institutions from UP featured in the rankings.The university recorded progress across several SDGs. Under SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), it improved from the 601–800 rank band in 2025 to 401–600 in 2026. It also secured a position in the 401–600 band under SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).Under SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the university improved from the 1501+ category to the 1001–1500 band.Vice-chancellor Prof. Anupama Kaushik Sharma termed the recognition a proud moment for the university and credited faculty members, researchers, students, staff, alumni and stakeholders for the achievement.
