Lucknow: Ahead of Uttar Pradesh’s Mass Plantation Campaign 2026, scheduled for July 12, Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Saturday distributed 1,400 saplings to promote environmental conservation and strengthen the ‘Net Zero Sarojini Nagar’ initiative.Under the initiative, 1,400 saplings were distributed among booth presidents, mandal presidents, sector coordinators and representatives of social organisations to ensure large-scale plantation across the constituency. Each of the constituency’s six BJP mandal presidents received 200 saplings.Addressing the gathering, Rajeshwar Singh said the slogan “One Plant, One Resolve” symbolises a collective commitment to protecting nature and ensuring a sustainable future.Emphasising the importance of afforestation, Singh said tree plantation is vital for reducing carbon emissions, conserving biodiversity, improving groundwater recharge, and mitigating the impact of climate change. He urged citizens, social organisations and the youth not only to plant more trees but also to ensure their survival.
