Gandhinagar: Minister of state for health Praful Pansheriya on Wednesday chaired a meeting to plan the proposed Spine and Sports Injury Centre. The minister said that a sum of Rs 295 crore will be spent in setting up a world-class spine institute, sports injury and rehabilitation centre at Medicity.Quoting the minister, the statement said that Gujarat is hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games and a bid has also been made to host the 2036 Olympics. “This institute would be a major boon for athletes in the state by ensuring access to world-class medical care and rehabilitation services within Gujarat itself,” the minister said.The proposed complex will bring together modern facilities under one roof for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of spinal disorders and sports-related injuries, the minister added.
