Ahmedabad: The admission committee has released the provisional merit list for admissions to allied healthcare and paramedical courses, including nursing, physiotherapy and several other programmes. A total of 34,741 students have been included in the merit list this year, around 4,100 fewer than last year.To maximise participation, the committee opened registration on four occasions between June and July. The process initially covered regular students, followed by another registration window after the declaration of NEET results. Additional opportunities were later provided for students who cleared supplementary examinations and for those who missed deadlines due to heavy rainfall and other disruptions.According to official data, 37,721 students registered for admission this year, while document verification was completed for 35,651 candidates. However, 2,526 applicants were excluded from the provisional merit list because of incomplete documentation, eligibility-related issues and other discrepancies.Candidates with objections or discrepancies in the provisional merit list can submit representations online until Aug 11. The final merit list will be published after these representations are examined.Admissions will be conducted for courses such as BSc Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), Physiotherapy, Audiology, Naturopathy, Occupational Therapy, and other paramedical programmes offered across Gujarat.Officials said verification of candidates under special categories, including disability assessment cases, is still underway. These students will be included in the final merit list after completion of the medical board evaluation.Admission rounds will begin after the publication of the final merit list. This year, nearly 194 colleges across the state are participating in the admission process for allied healthcare courses.
