Ludhiana: Senior deputy mayor Rakesh Prashar and zonal commissioner Neeraj Jain conducted a review meeting at the municipal corporation Zone B office near Shingar Cinema on Tuesday to accelerate property tax recovery.Attended by superintendents and inspectors of the property tax branch, officials were instructed to make regular field visits to expedite dues collection from residents.The tax wing was also directed to clear pending change-of-ownership cases that had accumulated due to civic body staff being deployed as booth level officers (BLOs) for special intensive revision (SIR) duties.Urging residents to clear their dues promptly, senior deputy mayor Rakesh Prashar stated that tax collections are utilised to provide basic amenities and fund infrastructure development across the city.Prashar appealed to taxpayers to clear their property tax for the current financial year (2026–27) by September 30 to avail a 10 percent rebate and avoid late payment penalties.
