Chandigarh: Acting on complaints from residents and shopkeepers, the municipal corporation (MC) Saturday launched a special anti-encroachment drive in Industrial Area Phases I and II to reclaim public land from unauthorised occupation.During the operation, enforcement teams removed and impounded a large quantity of material illegally placed on MC land, including plastic chairs, tables, mattresses, wooden tables, iron tables and iron counters.The drive was carried out peacefully with the support of enforcement staff and without any untoward incident. A total of 92 challans were issued against violators for unauthorised encroachments.
