Officials said Amreen remained in regular contact with Patial and allegedly agreed to pay money to have Chamanpreet eliminated. The investigation gathered momentum with the arrest of Harshpreet Singh (27) on April 29 during naka checking near Maloya. An imported .45-bore pistol and two live cartridges were seized from his possession. Police said verification revealed that the weapon was registered in the name of the accused woman. A separate case under the Arms Act has been registered. According to police, Lucky Patial allegedly arranged the logistics for the crime, including weapons, a motorcycle and funds, and deployed two shooters — Rajan alias Piyush Pehlwan and Pritam — who allegedly carried out the shooting on March 18.With the arrest of the accused and the intermediary, police said they had established links between a local property dispute and organised crime elements.
