Gurgaon: A 25-year-old mason died after falling from the 13th floor of an under-construction building in Sector 54 on Friday evening, allegedly after losing balance when a goods lift struck him during operations at the site.The deceased was identified as Mohammad Akhtar Alam, a native of Shivrampur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district. He was living here for the past year and was working as a mason to support his family.Police said he was employed at the site — an under-construction project of an elevator company — for the past 15 days.Co-workers rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.Police have sent the body for post-mortem and handed it over to the family after completing legal formalities. Investigators are examining safety measures at the site and recording statements from workers and management to determine the sequence of events.Officials said no complaint was filed by the family as of Saturday, and further action, including checks for negligence and safety violations, will follow once a complaint is received.
