Bengaluru: Manipal Health Enterprises, which operates the Manipal Hospitals chain, reported a 4.2% decline in net profit to Rs 243 crore for the June quarter, even as income rose 38.5% year-on-year to Rs 3,165 crore. It was the company’s first earnings announcement since its Aug 5 listing.The hospital operator has a network of 50 hospitals and more than 13,400 licensed beds across the country.Net profit was weighed down by finance costs, which more than doubled to Rs 293 crore from Rs 132 crore. The company had raised Rs 5,310 crore through 9% bonds to finance its acquisition of Sahyadri Hospitals.Manipal said its listing triggered the mandatory repayment of these bonds within 90 days, according to its exchange filing.The year-on-year comparison includes Sahyadri in the latest quarter but not in the corresponding period last year, as the acquisition was completed in Oct 2025. Sahyadri separately reported revenue growth of 12.8% and Ebitda growth of 18.7%.Hospital occupancy improved to 65% from 62.1%, while inpatient and outpatient volumes grew 38.8% and 26%, respectively. Inpatient revenue from complex-care specialties rose 45%, with oncology revenue up 62% and orthopaedics growing 49%.“Our performance this quarter reflects the strength of our pan-India network, sustained patient demand and continued growth in high-acuity specialties,” said Dilip Jose, managing director and CEO.After the quarter, Manipal agreed to acquire the business operations of Bengaluru-based Kinder Women’s Hospital for Rs 130 crore, subject to regulatory approvals.
