Man kidnapped over relationship with married woman

Rajkot: A 28-year-old man was allegedly kidnapped on Sunday along the Rajkot-Bhavnagar highway and rescued late at night by Aji Dam police after a swift search operation.The victim, Parth Limbani, was intercepted near Aniyala village by two men in a car after an altercation. Preliminary police inquiries revealed that the alleged abductors are the brother and cousin of a married woman with whom Parth had been in a relationship.According to a complaint lodged by Parth’s brother, Gautam Limbani, Parth left for work at a hotel near Aniyala village on Sunday morning. Concerns grew when Parth’s mobile phone was found to be switched off in the afternoon, prompting his family to search for him. They soon found his motorcycle abandoned by the roadside near Bhavdeep petrol pump.An eyewitness working at work on an adjacent farm told the family that two men had got out of a car and argued with the motorcyclist before forcing him into their vehicle and driving off. Later that evening, Parth called his family from an unknown number, saying he was being held in Dadva and telling them to bring the woman, identified as Krishna, to the location.Investigators said Krishna, a married woman from Dadva village, had been living with Parth due to discord with her husband. They had executed a companionship agreement. The relationship allegedly led Krishna’s family members to execute the abduction.Police began a search for Parth, leading his captors to release him at a secluded spot on Sunday night. Aji Dam police inspector Haresh Patel said teams have tasked with apprehending the kidnappers.
