Gurgaon: Days after the murder of a 45-year-old man, two accused were arrested after an encounter in Faridabad. One of the accused sustained a bullet injury to his leg after he opened fire at the joint team of Uncha Gaon crime branch and Faridabad’s Sector 65 police team on Wednesday.“The accused were identified as Tarun alias Naveen, a resident of Uncha Gaon, and Jatin. Tarun, who was injured, was admitted to hospital,” a police officer said. A pistol and two live cartridges were seized. Three other accused were also arrested later, taking the total number of arrests in the case to eight, police said. ACP Aman Yadav said, “During patrolling on the night of Oct 7, the team received information that Tarun and Jatin were hiding in rooms built inside a sewer-pipe warehouse on Malerna Road in Sector 62.” The other accused, who were arrested later, include Prashant, Naman and Akash, all residents of Uncha Gaon.On Oct 4, Lakshman, a resident of Shahupura, was attacked with knives and sticks near Sector 62/64 Chowk under Adarsh Nagar police station. Police said the attack followed an argument between Lakshman and Rinku, who ran a food cart in the area. Rinku called his brother and friends after the argument, following which a group attacked Lakshman and his nephew. Lakshman died, while his nephew Mahesh is undergoing treatment.
