KURUKSHETRA: Kurukshetra Police have arrested a man accused of tying up and allegedly torturing a minor boy at his house in Didar Nagar.According to police, the boy’s mother had gone to Hisar to her parental home to get medicines, leaving her two minor sons and a daughter at home. On July 31, 2026, the accused, identified as Shiv Kumar, a resident of Didar Nagar, Kurukshetra, allegedly lured her younger son out of the house on the pretext of making a video.Kurukshetra Police arrested Shiv Kumar on Sunday. He was subsequently produced before a court on Monday, which granted him two days’ police remand.Police said Kumar took the boy to his house, made him sit on a chair and tied both his hands behind it. He allegedly placed a bamboo stick between the two arms of the chair and restrained the boy’s legs to prevent him from getting up. The accused also allegedly held the boy’s face and forcibly poured water into his mouth.The boy’s elder brother, who had gone looking for him, reached Kumar’s house, following which the accused allegedly fled, leaving the minor behind.Based on the mother’s complaint, a case was registered at Kurukshetra University police station, and an investigation was launched.
