Man held for mowing down rival with SUV in Jaipur village
Rajendra Kumar Nitharwal (28), arrested for killing a man with his SUV over a land dispute in Jobner

Jaipur: Jaipur Rural police on Sunday arrested Rajendra Kumar Nitharwal (28) for allegedly lying in wait on a village road and mowing down Mohan Lal with a Scorpio in Hingonia, in what investigators say was a planned killing linked to a prolonged land dispute.SP Jaipur (Rural) Hanuman Prasad Meen said police arrested Nitharwal and seized Scorpio allegedly used to kill Mohan Lal in Hingonia village under Jobner police station limits. He said the evidence collected so far suggests the collision was not an accident but a planned attack arising from a long-running property dispute between the two families.According to police, the incident took place on Aug 3, when the victim was returning home on his motorcycle from farmland near Karansar Road. His brother, Lala Ram, alleged in an FIR that Nitharwal had been tracking Lal’s movements and deliberately waited for him near Bad Ki Dhani on Loharwada Road before ramming the motorcycle from behind with the intention of killing him.Police said the victim suffered grievous injuries in the impact and was rushed to govt hospital at Hingonia, where he later died. The complainant alleged that the accused and his family had threatened the victim a day before the incident and that the two families had been locked in a bitter land dispute for several years. Police said multiple civil disputes and preventive proceedings involving both sides were already pending before the incident.Following the registration of a murder case under BNS, Jaipur Rural police constituted a special investigation team led by Jobner SHO Hanuman Sahay.Investigators analysed technical evidence, tracked the accused’s movements and developed intelligence before tracing Rajendra to Jaipur, where he was detained and formally arrested. Police also seized Scorpio allegedly used in the crime.Officials said investigators are examining all technical, forensic and circumstantial evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events and establish whether the SUV was intentionally used as a weapon. Further investigation is underway.
