Jaipur: With Rajasthan’s urban local body and panchayat elections approaching, the state Congress Tuesday launched its ‘GenZ for Change’ campaign to reach out to young and first-time voters, with the party planning a grassroots network of youth committees across the state.The campaign, launched by Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee social media and digital platforms department chairman Sumit Bhagasara, will focus on issues including education, employment, skill development, career opportunities and civic concerns. The campaign assumes significance ahead of the local body polls, with the party planning to engage young voters through student-connect programmes, workshops, career counselling, legal support and online and offline seminars. Congress will constitute GenZ committees in every district and constituency to identify youth concerns and take them up with the party leadership. The committees will also engage with students in colleges and universities, with their suggestions and concerns to be compiled into a report.At a news conference in Jaipur, Bhagasara said the campaign would seek to create a direct channel between young people and the party. “Through this campaign, we want to listen to them, engage with them directly and take their concerns to the appropriate forums,” he said.The party said the campaign will continue through the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, with the youth outreach aimed at building a sustained connect beyond the electoral exercise.
