Jaipur: A 27-year-old man died during treatment Tuesday morning, days after he was allegedly kidnapped and brutally assaulted by a group of men in Jaipur’s Tunga area. He had been undergoing treatment for serious injuries since Sept 15.The deceased’s family alleged that the accused abducted him after demanding Rs 3,000 and took him to a farmhouse near Khataipura where 30-40 people allegedly assaulted him with sticks and clubs.

According to the family, a group of men arrived near the youth’s house on Sept 15 in a Bolero and on motorcycles and demanded Rs 3,000. When he refused, they allegedly forced him into a vehicle and took him to the farmhouse.The family admitted him to SMS Hospital in critical condition the same day. He was later shifted to Rajasthan Hospital, where he remained under treatment until his death on Tuesday.

The family alleged that Tunga police initially refused to register their complaint. An FIR was eventually registered on Sept 19 following a court order after the family approached the court.Police are investigating the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the death.
