Man cheated of  ₹1.38cr in ‘cow dung export’ deal

Surat: A 36-year-old trader from Surat has alleged that he was cheated of Rs 1.38 crore in a purported import-export business deal for the export of cow dung cakes to Dubai and the import of plastic bottle scrap from the US.Amroli police have registered an FIR for cheating and forgery and started an investigation.According to the FIR lodged on Thursday by Chirag Viradiya, the accused, Ronak Kakadiya, approached him claiming to be in the import-export business and offered to facilitate exports while assuring profitable returns.Between Jan 2025 and Sep 2026, the complainant made multiple payments after being told that the funds were required for export consignments and related procedures. Kakadiya allegedly furnished documents pertaining to shipping companies, banks and export procedures to convince him that the transactions were genuine.The FIR states that Kakadiya had offered Viradiya a partnership in his firm and took Rs 1.83 crore from him. He claimed that the money would be used to import plastic bottle scrap from the US and export cow dung cakes to Dubai, which he would procure from a firm in Vapi.When Viradiya sought details and later asked for his money back, Kakadiya returned Rs 45 lakh but failed to repay the rest, the complaint states.
