Bhilwara: A 36-year-old man, troubled by a property dealer, tried to immolate himself outside Bhilwara SP office Thursday. However, police personnel’s alertness saved the man, identified as Lakshmi Narayan Khatik of Shahpur assembly area. Khatik had accused the property dealer of duping him through fake land documents.Khatik with his family reached Bhilwara SP office Thursday to submit a memorandum in which he alleged that property dealer Sanwarlal Sharma had taken Rs 1.46 crore from the family in return of a plot lease in Bhilwara and for buying and selling land. However, Khatik neither got the lease nor his money.Khatik, angered by inaction in his case, poured petrol on himself outside the office. Police personnel present there stopped him and took him to meet SP Sagar Rana.Khatik took names of three more persons – Dayaram Kumawat, Sanwarmal Meghvanshi and Jagdish Kumawat-for duping him over the last 5-6 years. He said he had consumed poison earlier but still no action was taken against the accused. He alleged that when he asked for his money, Sanwarlal Sharma threatened to get him killed.According to Subhash Nagar Police Station in charge Kailash Kumar Vishnoi both the parties have filed cases against each other which are pending in court. Bhilwara SP Sagar Rana has directed police station officer to investigate the matter.
