The comedian shared that he was denied permission to hold a show there, leaving him unable to perform in the city for the past year. He appealed to the authorities with folded hands, requesting them to grant him the necessary permission.

The conversation began when a contestant, himself from Ahmedabad, made an appeal to the city’s residents, saying, “Ahmedabad, if you are watching this, please come to live shows. We really need you. We want to develop a scene in Ahmedabad.” He then urged Samay Raina to add his own message. Responding to this, the comedian revealed, “Mere khud ke shows nahi ho paa rahe Ahmedabad mein.” He went on to say, “Ahmedabad authorities if you are watching this, let me do shows in Ahmedabad. I love performing in Gujarat.”

Samay Raina’s past legal trouble over India’s Got Latent
This development comes a year after Samay found himself in legal trouble over remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia on India’s Got Latent. Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, had allegedly posed an inappropriate question to a contestant involving body parts and suggested an indecent act in return for Rs 2 crore. The controversy escalated further when he asked, “Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?”.

In the aftermath, several police complaints were lodged against both Ranveer and Samay, accusing them of promoting obscene and sexually explicit content through the show, with multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) invoked against them. Amid the fallout, Samay took down all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube and postponed his India tour, eventually returning with a special titled ‘Still Alive’.
