Mahesh Goud dares BJP to fight polls without invoking religion, god

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Saturday sought to ask the BJP whether it had the courage to contest elections without taking the name of religion and god.He also accused the saffron party of using Jana Sena president and AP deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan to revive the BJP in Telangana, and claimed that no matter what they do, the Congress will come back to power with BJP being decimated in the state. The TPCC president participated in a satyagraha deeksha at Gandhi Bhavan organised by Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sangathan in protest against the BJP conspiring and ensuring that the Rajya Sabha nomination papers of AICC in leader Meenakshi Natarajan were rejected in Madhya Pradesh. The TPCC president alleged that the BJP, with the purported support of the Election Commission authorities, has turned the SIR into an exercise for removal of secular votes.“The BJP is undermining democratic institutions and constitutional values. Meenakshi’s nomination was rejected based on a private complaint in a court. There was not even an FIR. There have been instances in other states where candidates were given opportunity to rectify deficiencies in nomination papers,” he claimed. While the BJP is spreading false allegations against Nehru-Gandhi family members, the Congress is firmly committed to protecting democratic values, he added.
