Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), which has been made the nodal agency for the development of Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region (UPSCR), is gearing up to prepare a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based Master Plan-2051 for the six districts included in it.The digital plan will integrate land use, water bodies, forests, green belts and proposed development projects of nearly 26,000 sq km on a single platform to support planning and monitoring.The proposed UPSCR will include Lucknow, Barabanki, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao and Rae Bareli. The regional master plan will provide a long-term framework for planned growth and coordinated development across the region.Officials said the plan will define land use, settlement patterns and transport networks. It will propose new highways, regional rail links, a mass rapid transit system, freight corridors, logistics parks and better last-mile connectivity to rural areas. It will also focus on economic development, physical infrastructure, environmental conservation, social infrastructure, governance and implementation.The LDA is also identifying projects in transport, infrastructure, industry and tourism for inclusion in the regional plan. Proposals under consideration include a Transport Nagar, an orbital rail corridor, Metro network expansion, industrial clusters, logistics parks, food parks and corridor-based development along the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway.LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar said the GIS-based master plan would serve as a roadmap for balanced regional development.
