Kushinagar univ to help boost agri productivity, transform farmers’ lives: CM

Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that the upcoming Mahatma Buddha Agriculture and Technology University in Kushinagar would play a transformative role in enhancing farmers’ income and improving agriculturalproductivity across eastern Uttar Pradesh.Inspecting the under-construction university campus, being developed at a cost of nearly Rs 450 crore, the chief minister said the project would be completed within the stipulated time frame. He expressed confidence that the university would be inaugurated by Sept or Oct, while admissions are expected to begin in the current academic session through temporary arrangements made with the support of the district administration.“The institution will not only introduce modern agricultural technologies to farmers, but also help reduce cultivation costs, increase productivity and significantly boost farm incomes,” he said.Highlighting Kushinagar’s changing landscape, Yogi said the district was no longer identified as backward and had emerged from the challenges of crime, disorder and encephalitis. “Kushinagar is now setting new benchmarks of development in an atmosphere of growth and optimism,” he added.The chief minister also pointed to major infrastructure projects, including a medical college, technology university, highways and four-lane roads. He said the Gorakhpur-Siliguri corridor, the approved Deoria-Kushinagar four-lane project and the district’s international airport would further accelerate economic growth and connectivity, unlocking immense development potential for the region.
