HYDERABAD: Stating Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken on wrong people, the youth, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the Gen Z and younger generation are not afraid of CBI, ED or Income Tax raids. He said the to curb the younger generation’s voice, the Centre was branding them as terrorists, traitors, Pakistanis and urban naxals. The BRS student wing BRSV held a dharna protesting lati charge on the youth in Delhi and demanded the resignation of union minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Indira Park on Friday. The BRS expressed its solidarity with the youth, who are on the warpath in Delhi. KTR warned that this is the same kind of youth that brought down govt in Sri Lanka, Nepal and that it would be unwise to provoke them. What is unjust about what they are asking? All they want is fairness and protection for their future. Did the youth ask for the Prime Minister’s chair? Did they ask for ministerial posts?, KTR said.“If the Centre were truly responsible, it should have spoken to the students long ago and resolved their issues through repeated dialogue,” he said. The BRS leader said the youth movement has no backing from political leaders and media. Still thousands are gathering in cities across the country on their own. “Their anger is not just about a paper leak. It is the result of twelve years of betrayal, deceit, and broken promises by the Centre,” KTR said.He said PM Modi promised two crore jobs a year, but after failing to deliver 24 crore jobs over 12 years, the youth have now come out onto the streets. When the country asked for “Make in India,” the BJP delivered “Leak in India.” Students and youth are demanding accountability from the Centre. They are asking whether simply questioning the central government has now become a crime. There is no politics behind today’s protest. We are holding this program as public representatives and leaders because we cannot ignore the injustice being done to students. As a movement-based party that fought under Ambedkar’s inspiration to achieve Telangana, we felt it was our duty to stand with the student movement. On Telangana CM Revanth ReddyBRS working president KT Rama Rao asked CM Revanth Reddy, why is he reacting when he criticised PM Narendra Modi on NEET paper leak issue. “If Modi has done wrong, why should Revanth Reddy be offended? If I question Modi, why is Revanth Reddy sending Youth Congress workers to block me? He must explain,” he said.KTR said when Rahul Gandhi was fighting in Delhi, Revanth Reddy hid away in Kodangal. “If Revanth Reddy’s own daughter or granddaughter were beaten the way students were beaten in Delhi, would he stay silent? He does not even have the courage to go to Delhi, sit beside his own leader, and protest. While the whole country is questioning Narendra Modi and Dharmendra Pradhan, Revanth Reddy is busy attacking KCR and KTR. Why is Revanth Reddy trying to stop us when we speak? He must answer that,” the BRS leader said.
