Bengaluru: The Chamarajpet down ramp of KR Market flyover on Mysuru Road will be closed to traffic for 25 days as white-topping work is being taken up on Sultan Road, which connects Cottonpet to Chamarajpet. The closure led to confusion among commuters after reports suggested that the entire KR Market flyover would be shut for white-topping. Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Limited (B-Smile) officials, however, clarified the flyover itself is not being closed for the work, only the Chamarajpet-bound down ramp will be affected.Separately, Bengaluru Central City Corporation (BCCC) has proposed maintenance work on KR Market flyover. It will include resurfacing, repairs to joints, removal of plants growing on the structure. BCCC commissioner Jagadeesha G said the civic body will discuss the requirements with engineers and prepare an action plan.Jagadeesha clarified the flyover has not yet been closed for the proposed maintenance work. The timeline, traffic arrangements and other details will be announced once the DPR is finalised.
