Dhubri: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) deputy chief executive member Rihan Daimary on Friday laid the foundation stone for a centre of educational excellence on the premises of Kokrajhar District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Kokrajhar.The central govt is funding the project.Speaking on the occasion, Daimary said the upgrade would bring a sea of changes in the education sector and is expected to raise the standard of DIET’s capabilities in the days to come.“Our teachers need to be qualitatively trained in all aspects of the modern education system, so that they can impart value-based education to students,” Daimary added.Daimary hoped that the initiative would enhance the region’s educational environment and play a pivotal role in improving professional skills in teachers.The National Council for Teacher Education has approved the institute.Legislator Rupam Roy, BTC executive member D Basumayary and MCLA (Member of Council of Legislative Assembly) Khampa Borgoysri were present at the event.
