Pune: Four students from Maharashtra secured a perfect 100 percentile score, while no student from outside the state achieved the top rank in the results declared by Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell for admission to BSc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses for 2026-27.The Nursing CET examination was conducted on May 6 and 7, 2026, in three sessions over two days. A total of 47,722 candidates registered for the examination, of whom 43,283 appeared, recording an attendance rate of 90.7%.Among the candidates who took the examination, 11,028 were male and 32,255 were female students. The exam was conducted in a computer-based format at 116 centres across all 36 districts of Maharashtra. Unlike the previous years, no examination centres were set up outside the state.Officials at the CET Cell said, “The CET results are declared in percentile and not percentage. While percentage reflects marks obtained out of the total score, percentile indicates a candidate’s relative performance compared with other test-takers and is used for ranking purposes in the admission process.”The four students who secured 100 percentile are Sarita Vilas Gholap from Thane, Christina Ashish Jacob from Nagpur, Shivraj Laxman Shelke from Beed, and Siona Shaji Vallupara from Thane. In the open category, Jacob and Vallupara both secured 100 percentile. Gholap and Shelke topped the OBC category with 100 percentile scores.Among the other category toppers, Eshwari Dattatraya Kamble from Solapur and Vedansh Shahaji Wankhedkar from Dhule scored 99.9 percentile in the SC category. Priyal from Gadchiroli topped the ST category with 99.6 percentile.
