Ahmedabad: A statewide initiative titled ‘Kidnovation’ was launched by Children’s Research University with the aim of nurturing creativity, problem-solving skills and innovative thinking among children in Gujarat. The programme seeks to guide young minds from ideation to invention and even patent development.As part of the first phase, a mentor orientation programme was organised through BISAG Studio and YouTube, engaging teachers and mentors from across the state. The initiative encourages educators and parents to identify children’s natural curiosity and channel it towards innovation and research.Addressing the session, vice-chancellor T S Joshi emphasised that every child possesses unique ideas that need encouragement. He stated that the role of teachers and parents is not to provide ready-made answers but to understand children’s questions and foster their imagination and analytical thinking.Project director Nilesh Pandya elaborated on the objectives of the programme, highlighting its focus on developing research aptitude, creativity, design thinking and problem-solving skills from an early age. He also appreciated the active participation of teachers and mentors.During the programme, Bhavesh Pandya presented details about various stages of the initiative, including registration, mentoring sessions, innovation development, presentations and evaluation processes. A structured timeline for students and teachers was also shared.The initiative was launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of renowned educationist Giju Badheka, adding inspirational significance to the campaign.
