Patiala: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi met three affected families during the Punjab Insaf Rally in Sangrur on Wednesday and assured them of support in seeking justice.They heard the grievances of the families of Sukhwinder Singh Kalkatta, Gurmel Singh Toot and Parkash Chand of Bathinda.Kalkatta was shot dead in Sehna, Barnala, while Congress leader and former sarpanch Gurmel Singh Toot was killed in Patti, Tarn Taran. Their families sought fair investigations and strict action against those responsible. Kharge and Gandhi assured them that their concerns would be raised and every possible effort made to secure justice.Parkash Chand told the leaders that his son’s drug addiction had pushed the family into severe financial hardship. The family sought support for his rehabilitation, financial assistance and help with the education of his daughters.Kharge and Gandhi assured the family of Congress’s continued support in addressing challenges faced by families affected by drugs and securing justice for victims.
