JC Bose University declares sem results in a month after digital evaluation, first in state

NOIDA: JC Bose University of Science and Technology in Faridabad has become the first state govt university in Haryana to declare its May 2026 semester examination results in less than a month after implementing a fully digital evaluation system.Replacing the conventional manual process, which took nearly two to two-and-a-half months, the university evaluated more than 2.4 lakh answer sheets and declared results within a month.Controller of examinations Dr Rajiv Kumar Singh said, “Earlier, the evaluation process was entirely manual and involved multiple stages such as collection, sorting, bundling and physical distribution of answer sheets to examiners.”Under the new system, answer sheets are scanned immediately after examinations and converted into secure digital files, eliminating the need for physical handling. Faculty members evaluate these scripts online through the university’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based evaluation platform. The portal allows students to view their evaluated answer sheets and report issues such as unchecked answers or totalling errors digitally before results are finalised.Singh said, “The initiative is a progressive and transformative step that strengthens academic credibility and institutional efficiency. When teachers know that students can view their answer sheets, it leads to more careful and responsible evaluation.”The transition was initiated in Jan 2026 and was supported by extensive faculty training conducted over three months across the university and its 13 affiliated colleges. The university is now preparing for the next phase of reforms, including digitising question paper preparation to further reduce manual intervention while ensuring confidentiality.
