Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said Japanese major Daikin Industries will invest around Rs 1,000 crore in Manesar, creating over 500 jobs in the state.Saini said the investment reflects growing confidence of Japanese companies in Haryana’s industry-friendly policies. The project includes setting up a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) centre in Manesar, which he said would be among the largest of its kind in the country and boost technological innovation.The chief minister said the investment follows the memorandum of understanding signed during his Japan visit in October 2025, adding that it signals increased foreign investor interest in the state.He reiterated that the govt is focused on improving ease of doing business and reducing the cost of doing business through policy reforms aimed at attracting investment.Saini also made an appeal to voters in neighbouring Punjab, sayng that BJP focused on “development, not appeasement”, and urged people of Punjab to “be ready for change”. He added if the BJP came to power in Punjab, it would act firmly against illegal drug trade.
