Jaipur: Jaipur International Airport Limited has implemented an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled traffic congestion alert system at Terminal 2 to manage vehicular movement in the landside and car parking areas, aiming to improve passenger convenience and operational efficiency.The airport said the AI system is already helping streamline traffic flow and reduce congestion during peak hours using real-time vehicle monitoring, assessing vehicle density and triggering action when traffic builds up.“The AI-based setup relies on video analytics to generate real-time insights on vehicle movement across multiple landside and parking zones. It continuously evaluates vehicle density at the airport’s landside and automatically generates alerts to indicate high vehicle movement,” an official release said.According to airport administration, these alerts are immediately relayed to airport teams, who respond by deploying personnel at congestion points and directing vehicles through designated lanes.“During periods of heavier traffic volume, additional staff are stationed at critical points to ensure smooth movement. Responses are carried out in a structured, time-bound manner, ensuring congestion is identified, escalated and resolved with minimal delay,” an airport spokesperson said.Officials added that the system will reduce waiting times at entry and exit points while improving coordination among on-ground teams through timely interventions.
