Jagga Reddy slams KTR, defends party’s record on jobs

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president T Jagga Reddy took strong objection to the remarks of BRS working president KT Rama Rao in Saroornagar meeting and said his remarks were against Telangana’s culture. He said KTR should introspect whether the remarks made by him against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi reflect the values and culture of Telangana. He said the Congress govt had filled up 70,000 posts in the past two and half years including 562 Group-I posts, and asked whether the BRS was ready for a debate on this in the state assembly.Addressing the media persons on Sunday, Jagga claimed that Telangana was achieved mainly because of Sonia Gandhi and that the people of the state regard her as the mother of Telangana. He alleged that despite expressing gratitude to Sonia Gandhi after statehood was achieved, the BRS top leaders are now targeting her family members with comments that belittle Telangana’s values and culture.Jagga said Telangana’s culture is rooted in gratitude, respect, and humanity, and questioned whether making remarks against the family of Sonia Gandhi was consistent with those values. “The Gandhi family keeps their word whereas KCR family betrayed the trust placed in them,” Jagga alleged. The Congress leader further criticised the previous BRS govt over issues including unemployment and the alleged Group-I examination paper leak. He claimed that the Congress govt led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, has accelerated recruitment and provided employment opportunities across multiple govt departments to nearly 70,000 youth of Telangana.
