Jaipur: Ravi Bishnoi believes the forthcoming twin tours of Ireland and England is a good opportunity for him to prove his credentials and cement his place in the Indian side.“It is a very good chance for me to prove my worth. I will try to perform to the best of my abilities and cement my spot in the India’s T20 side. I would like to live up to the selectors’ faith who have trusted my skills and picked me for both the series,” said Bishnoi after being appointed as the brand ambassador for the Indian Healthcare League (IHL) here on Sunday. The 25-year-old leg-spinner will be leaving for the UK on Tuesday. The Indian team is scheduled to play a couple of matches against Ireland, while the Shreyas Iyer-led side will play a five-match series against England. The first T20I match against Ireland will be played on June 26.Despite making T20 debut in Feb, 2022, Bishnoi, who hails from Jodhpur, has played only 44 matches so far for India and also failed to represent the national squad in any of the three T20 World Cups during this period because of lack of consistency.“I know I was not able to play continuously for Team India and also could not feature in the T20 World Cups. But from now my focus will be on consistency and try and win as many matches for the country with my bowling performance. I am also working on my batting and would like to contribute some important runs whenever the team requires,” said Bishnoi, who praised the organisers for starting the IHL last year. The IHL Season 2 will be played in Jaipur.
