IOC ups auto LPG supply by 300%

Bengaluru: In the backdrop of LPG crisis, which has taken a toll on auto drivers across the city, Indian Oil Corporation announced Thursday that it has increased its auto LPG supply volumes by nearly 300% to meet the demand. On Wednesday, the oil company supplied 75.5 metric tonnes (MT) of auto LPG in the city, higher than the usual daily supply of around 23 MT prior to the crisis. Similarly, across Karnataka, it has doubled its supplies by dispatching over 83 MT in recent days, compared to its pre-crisis average of around 43.5 MT per day to support the state’s requirements. The surge in demand has been largely driven by disruptions at private auto LPG dispensing stations (ALDS), which typically account for nearly 80% of the auto LPG market in Bengaluru and across Karnataka.
