Information commissioners brief CM on disposal of pending cases

Lucknow: A delegation of state information commissioners, led by chief information commissioner Raj Kumar Vishwakarma, met CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday to apprise him of the functioning of the commission, the status of pending cases and the progress of the e-filing and hybrid hearing systems.The members informed the CM that as of March 13, 2024, 24,987 cases were pending in the state, when the new CIC and ICs assumed office. Since then, 23,113 of these cases have been disposed of. The disposal rate of pending cases stands at 92.5%, with only 1,874 old offline cases remaining.Under the new Complaint and Appeal Tracking System (CATS-UPSIC), 66,203 cases were registered up to Aug 22, 2026, of which 43,022 have already been disposed of. The disposal rate under the new system stands at approximately 65%, with 22,828 cases currently pending.
