Chennai: State industries minister S Keerthana on Monday alleged Tamil Nadu lost several investments to other states during the previous DMK govt due to “delays in approval and corruption”.She told reporters that over the last five years, 25 investors who wanted to invest in TN had changed their mind and chose other states due to demand for “commission”. As a result, the state had lost ₹3.3 lakh crore investments, she said. “Since those investors moved to other states, we lost two lakh jobs. Seven states have benefitted from investments moving out of Tamil Nadu,” she added.“We are going to bring a 21-day approval method for faster approval and to weed out corruption. There was corruption everywhere in the previous govt. The companies had to pay money to even get an environment clearance certificate,” Keerthana claimed. She said none of the investors have left Tamil Nadu in the one month of TVK governance. “They (DMK) are blaming us that investments went to Andhra Pradesh, but in the past 30 days, none of the investments left us,” Keerthana said. She added that TVK govt is holding talks with several investors to bring in more investments to the state.
