Industrialists seek better civic infra, Udyog Kendra facelift

Greater Noida: Seeking redressal of various demands, a delegation of industrialists met Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate (DM) Medha Roopam recently, with the latter assuring them that all concerns of the entrepreneurs would be “prioritised.Industrial Business Association (IBA) met Roopam over “long-pending issues” of waterlogging, drainage and cleanliness with which UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) Site-5 and Site-B/C areas are plagued with. The delegation also proposed the development of Udyog Kendra-2 in Ecotech-3 into a “world-class model gated ideal industrial area”.IBA president Amit Upadhyay told TOI, “The DM directed the officials concerned to ensure effective coordination and necessary action. She also assured that weekly meetings with UPSIDA will be held and the progress will be regularly reviewed till the problem is resolved.”As regards Udyog Kendra-2 in Ecotech-3, DM said a joint committee — including representatives from the district administration, UPSIDA and IBA — will be tasked with overseeing development work, with regular progress reports to follow. “Once established, the model could be replicated in other industrial sectors,” Upadhyay said.The meeting was attended by IBA general secretary Sunil Dutt Sharma, treasurer Rakesh Aggarwal, vice presidents Naresh Chauhan and Rajesh Khanna, youth executive member Harsh Tomar and senior member Chanchal Kumar.The IBA also thanked the DM for the initiative to open Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium to the public, making sports facilities “accessible at a nominal annual fee”. “DM’s proactive approach has instilled confidence within the entrepreneurial community,” Upadhyay added.
