Noida: A continuing leak in the Ganga water supply line near Eta 1 in Greater Noida has left green spaces along roads waterlogged for the past three to four days. Residents pointed out that stagnant water could trigger mosquito breeding and foul smells, increasing the risk of a disease outbreak.Members of the Federation of RWAs in Greater Noida claimed that no corrective measures have been taken by the GNIDA, despite visible water wastage.“Residents are facing severe water pressure issues in Delta 1, 2, and 3, while in Eta 1, the leakage in the Ganga water pipeline has resulted in waterlogged green spaces along the road. Many people had to struggle to clean their homes during Janmashtami due to inadequate water supply,” stated Rishipal Bhati, general secretary of the Federation of RWAs, Greater Noida.In addition to the leak and low-pressure supply, residents across these sectors have also raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of the roads in these areas. “Many roads are broken, making commutes harder for those living in the area,” Bhati said.Residents urged GNIDA officials to take immediate action to rectify the water leakage and low-pressure issues and repair the roads. “We need timely updates on when these problems will be resolved,” Bhati added.As residents continue to seek resolution, the situation has raised questions about the efficiency of the Authority yet again in managing essential services in Greater Noida. GNIDA officials, meanwhile, said that the issues will be addressed soon.
