IIT-B student suicide: Mumbai crime branch questions professor for 8 hours; institute director may be summoned
BTech student Sahil Wakode ended his life on Sept 18

Mumbai: The city crime branch, probing the alleged abetment to suicide of IIT-B second-year student Sahil Wakode, on Thursday recorded the statement of professor Suryanarayana Doolla for nearly eight hours.Wakode’s parents, in their police complaint, had alleged that Doolla harassed Sahil. Investigators questioned Doolla about the events leading up to Sahil’s death and allegations made by his parents regarding his interaction with the professor. Sources said Doolla denied all allegations.Police are now likely to summon IIT-B director Prof Shireesh Kedare to record his statement.Police are also examining CCTV footage from the examination hall as part of the probe.
