Gurgaon: The city remained hot and humid on Saturday despite a slight dip in temperatures. Dry conditions are likely to continue for the next two days, followed by light rain at some places, including the city, from Sept 1.While the maximum temperature recorded at Gurgaon KVK on Saturday was 35 degrees Celsius, it reached 36.1 degrees Celsius at NorthCap University, up from 35.4 degrees Celsius a day earlier.The minimum temperature at Gurgaon KVK was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than 27.6 degrees Celsius recorded on the previous day. At NorthCap University, the minimum temperature stood at 26.9 degrees Celsius, compared with 27.8 degrees Celsius a day earlier.According to the IMD, the hot conditions are likely to be accompanied by some fleeting rainfall over the next few days. Light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places across Haryana till Aug 31, while rainfall may occur at a few places thereafter.The weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall on Sept 1 across several districts, including Chandigarh, Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Gurgaon, Mewat, Palwal, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panipat and Jind. The forecast suggests that the possibility of showers over the next few days in the city could bring a temporary drop in temperatures.So far this month, the city has recorded 216.8 mm of rain, having an excess of 21%, against the normal of 179.7 mm rainfall. Yamunanagar received the highest rainfall with 331.2 mm rain against the normal of 294.3 mm rainfall, having an excess of 13%.
