Bathinda: The Punjab and Haryana high court has issued notice to the Punjab govt and other respondents on a petition seeking cancellation of the written examination for 454 pharmacy officer posts over allegations of an organised interstate cheating racket.While seeking replies by Aug 10, the court said the ongoing recruitment process would remain subject to the outcome of the writ petition.The petition seeks cancellation of the written examination held on Jul 19, along with all consequential steps, including evaluation of answer sheets and declaration of results. It alleges that the recruitment process was vitiated by an organised, high-tech interstate cheating racket, violating the constitutional guarantee of equal opportunity in public employment under Articles 14 and 16.The state counsel sought time to file a written statement, following which the bench issued notice and adjourned the matter to Aug 10.
