Haryana extends UG admission deadline; new date Jun 30

Gurgaon: The Higher Education Department (DHE) of Haryana has extended the deadline for first-year undergraduate admissions till June 30, granting eligible candidates an additional 15 days to submit their online application, providing relief to those who failed to complete the process. The centralised DHE admission portal covers govt colleges, govt-aided colleges and self-financing private colleges across the state, and the extension therefore applies to all participating institutions under this system.Along with the extension for applications, the schedule for application verification, release of merit lists, fee submission and physical counselling also will be revised. The updated timetable for these stages will be announced separately by the department in the coming days. The online application process commenced on May 7, with the deadline set for May 31. Following requests from students and colleges, the department’s first extension was set on June 15. However, as several students were still unable to apply, the DHE has granted another 15-day extension, making June 30 the new final date. The extensions were granted to help students who missed the initial and revised application deadline due to document-related delays, family ID verification issues, uncertainty about course selection, and other admission-related queries. The DHE has not reported any portal crash or technical failure as a reason for the failed application processes. The current notice only states the deadline extension. These extensions are not new; the state has seen them several times before during UG admissions. The department stated the extension aims to ensure that no eligible student misses the opportunity to secure admission in undergraduate programmes due to procedural delays or other difficulties.Authorities have advised aspiring candidates to complete their online registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues and ensure a smooth admission process.
