Chandigarh: The Haryana govt has extended the coverage of the Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Service) Act, 2024 to four additional categories of employees, allowing eligible staff to apply for service security benefits through the online registration portal by July 31.Chief secretary Anurag Rastogi said the fresh registration drive covers computer faculty and computer lab attendants in the shool education department, contractual employees engaged through the department of information technology and science (excluding HARTRON), and contractual employees working with the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). These categories were not included in the earlier registration phase.Eligible employees can register on the dedicated portal before July 31, after which applications will undergo a three-stage verification process. Drawing and disbursing officers have been directed to verify service records by Aug 7, while heads of departments must complete final scrutiny and approval by Aug 15.Rastogi has instructed the director general of school education, HSSC chairman and all deputy commissioners to ensure strict adherence to the timeline so that eligible employees are not denied benefits due to procedural delays.The HR department has also sought service records from the treasuries and accounts department and Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited to facilitate timely verification of applications.
