Ahmedabad: A moving truck caught fire on the Adalaj-Tarapur highway early Monday, disrupting traffic for some time. The driver and cleaner escaped unhurt after getting out of the vehicle before the flames spread.Officials said smoke was first noticed from the rear portion of the truck while it was on the highway. The driver pulled over to the roadside and exited the vehicle along with the cleaner. Within minutes, the fire engulfed the truck.Thick smoke was visible from a distance as the vehicle remained in flames. The truck’s tyres burst one after another during the blaze, causing panic among motorists passing through the stretch.Firefighters reached the spot after being alerted. As a precautionary measure, traffic on both sides of the highway was temporarily stopped while the fire team carried out the operation. The blaze was brought under control within an hour, and firefighters prevented it from spreading further. No injuries or casualties were reported. Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
