Ahmedabad: As excessive rainfall has inundated many homes and schools, damaging students’ textbooks, the Gujarat State School Textbook Board will provide replacement textbooks free of cost to all affected students.The initiative aims to ensure that children from economically weaker and middle-class families in flood-affected areas can continue their studies without interruption. Govt seeks to minimise academic loss and maintain continuity in learning despite the natural calamity.Providing details, board chairman Manubhai Pawar said the scheme will cover students studying in all govt and grant-in-aid schools in the affected regions. District education officers (DEOs) and district primary education officers (DPEOs) have been directed to collect accurate data on damaged textbooks and promptly submit the requirements to the board.Upon receiving the demand from the districts, the board has made special arrangements to ensure the swift distribution of textbooks to affected schools. Authorities have also assured parents and students that adequate support will be provided. Students whose textbooks have been damaged have been advised to contact their schools or district education offices immediately for assistance.
