Gujarat begins second phase of exams for non-teaching posts

Ahmedabad: Gujarat University has begun conducting the second phase of exams for candidates who cleared the first stage of its ongoing recruitment process for non-teaching posts. The exams are being held on April 29 and 30 to fill long-vacant administrative positions across the university. On April 29, written exams were conducted for multiple posts, with around 42 candidates appearing for 11 different positions. These included 18 candidates for laboratory assistant post, four for accounts officer, two for medical officer, four for security officer, four for pharmacist and two for telephone operator posts. The remaining exams are scheduled for April 30 in two shifts: from 9am to 11am and noon to 2pm. A large number of candidates are expected to appear, with over 5,000 applicants participating in the second phase. Specifically, 156 candidates will appear for senior clerk posts, 83 for junior clerk (PWD) and approximately 4,071 candidates for various junior clerk positions in the morning shift alone. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 123 non-teaching vacancies based on the results of these exams. However, the process has faced criticism from candidates due to a lack of clarity regarding qualifying marks in the first phase and uncertainty over the number of candidates shortlisted for the second phase until the last moment.Despite these concerns, the university is proceeding with the exams to complete the recruitment process.
